Citizen Sentinel is an independent American civic publication founded on the belief that self-governance requires informed, engaged, and courageous citizens. We are not affiliated with any political party, government agency, military branch, or advocacy organization. We answer to our readers and to the principles that have defined the American republic since its founding
What We Do
We publish commentary, analysis, and reported articles on the political ideas, cultural developments, civic institutions, and historical lessons that shape American life. Our writers examine these subjects without the filters of partisan loyalty, institutional caution, or ideological conformity. We cover the full spectrum of civic life — from constitutional principles and military heritage to political debate, American history, and the state of civic culture in communities across the country.
What We Believe
We believe the American experiment is worth defending — not blindly, but deliberately, with eyes open to its failures as well as its achievements. We believe political speech is a civic duty, not a liability. We believe honest disagreement, seriously engaged, is more valuable than polite consensus. And we believe that every American willing to read carefully, think independently, and act on principle is a sentinel worth standing beside.
How We Sustain Ourselves
Citizen Sentinel operates as an independent sole proprietorship. We do not solicit donations or operate as a nonprofit. We sustain our work through affiliate relationships with booksellers, publishers, and other providers whose products align with our readers' interests. When we recommend a book, a resource, or a service, it is because we believe in it — and we disclose when a link may earn us a commission. Our editorial independence is not for sale.
